I’m getting massive walls of red and yellow text in my Player Console mentioning “a task was cancelled”!

Description of Issue

This issue is typically caused by the game client failing to authenticate properly with Central Servers. This issue often appears in tandem with the “Client Failed to Authenticate in Time” error, and as such, the resolution steps are effectively the same.

Ensure your PC meets our minimum system requirements. Your PC specs should match or be more powerful than the current minimum specs on steam. Anything less powerful risks having issues occur simply due to your hardware not being able to keep up with SCP:SL. As well, please ensure you are on an up-to-date version of Windows 11 and other operating systems are not supported at this time.

Resolution

  • Firstly, open your client console while on the main menu with the ( ~ ) key, and run the command “ar”. This will force the game to renew your authentication session. The console should display a message in green confirming the successful renewal of your Authentication Token.
  • Should this fail, close SL and perform a Clean Reinstall.
  • Next, should your issue still remain, navigate to your steam library. Right click SCP:SL, selecting the “properties” menu. There, you will find a panel to input launch options. Add the property “-httpproxy”, and relaunch SCP:SL.
  • Should this still fail, remove the previous property and try “-unitywebrequest” instead.
  • Should neither option work, remove the previous property and add “-unitywebrequestdispatcher” to the panel. Do note that this property will have an impact on the time it takes for the Server List to load.

I still have issues!
