Game stuck on running install script on Steam

Description of issue

Game is stuck on "running install script" on Steam, not allowing you to play the game.

Causes:

• Steam permission issues.
• Steam unable to run install script automatically.

Solutions:

• Run Steam as admin.
  1. Open steam and navigate to the top left and click Steam
  2. Click Exit at the bottom
  3. Open Windows search feature and type Steam
  4. Click "Run as administrator" as shown below
     

     

     
     
  5. Relaunch the game.
• Manually run the install script
  1. Download Windows vc redist from here
  2. Open it and run the installer
  3. Try relaunching the game. You may need to restart your PC, or restart Steam.
