How to Perform a Clean Reinstall
A “Clean Reinstall” is a method commonly used within our team to ensure that Steam has installed SCP: Secret Laboratory (and its required dependencies) correctly. A clean reinstall is similar to a normal reinstall but adds a couple of extra steps that ensure Steam properly deletes all of SCP: Secret Laboratory’s data.
Step-by-step guide
1. Open your Steam Library.
2. Right-click on SCP: Secret Laboratory → Manage → Browse local files.
⚠️ Do not close this File Explorer window, you’ll need it in step 4.
3. Right-click on SCP: Secret Laboratory → Manage → Uninstall.
4. In the File Explorer window from step 2, delete any remaining files or folders.
5. Return to Steam and reinstall SCP: Secret Laboratory.
