How to Install or Repair DirectX

This page explains how to install or repair the DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) package.

• Download the Installer
  • https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=8109
• Run the Installer
  
  • Double-click the downloaded file named directx_Jun2010_redist.exe.
    When asked where to extract the files, create a new folder first (for example: C:\DirectX2010).
    Select that folder and click OK.
    Do not choose your Downloads folder directly, or the files will be mixed in with your other files.
• Run the Setup
  • Open the folder you created and double-click DXSETUP.exe.
    Follow the on-screen instructions to install DirectX.
• Wait for Installation
  
  • The installer will copy the necessary DirectX files.
    This may take a few minutes depending on your system
• Restart
  
  • Once the installation is complete, restart your computer.
