A virtual private network (VPN) is an overlay network that uses network virtualization to extend a private network across a public network. Sometimes, the issue may a faulty hardware or an ISP issue and the solution could be to use a VPN software.


Which do we advise?

These VPNs are able to connect to our central servers without any issues, while staying free at the same time.

Proton VPN is a secure, open-source virtual private network service developed by Proton AG. Thanks to being based in Switzerland, it offers a no-logs policy. More features, but at the cost of being more complex.

Please note that some servers may block VPNs, which is beyond our control. You can usually request a whitelist on the server you are currently trying to join.
