SCP:SL crashes to desktop with no warning or pop-up (silent crash)!
NOTE:
Ensure your PC meets our minimum system requirements. Your PC specs should match or be more powerful than the current minimum specs on steam. Anything less powerful risks having issues occur simply due to your hardware not being able to keep up with SCP:SL. As well, please ensure you are on an up-to-date version of Windows 11 and other operating systems are not supported at this time.

Check for System Updates
To check for system-wide updates, open Windows settings, (Press ⊞ Win + I) navigate to Update & Security. Then, click Check For Updates. If there are updates pending, press install now.
NVIDIA GPU
To check for updates for your NVIDIA GPU Drivers, You’ll need to install the GeForce Experience app. If you already have it installed, follow this video for how to check for updates:
Method 1: Automatic Update (Recommended)

Download & InstallClick"Download"→ Wait for the download to finish.Click"Express Installation"(recommended for most users).Alternatively, choose"Custom Installation"if you want to:Perform aclean install(removes old settings).Install only specific components (e.g.,PhysX, HD Audio).
Follow On-Screen InstructionsWait for the installation to complete (your screen may flicker).
Restart Your PCSome driver updates need a restart to take effect.
Click"Restart Now"
Method 2: Manual Driver Download (Alternative)
If GeForce Experience isn’t working, you can manually download drivers:
Visit NVIDIA’s Driver Download Page.
Enter your GPU model (e.g., RTX 3060) and OS details.
Download the latest game ready driver and run the installer.
AMD GPU
To update your AMD GPU Drivers, Follow this link to their website to download and install the AMD Driver Upgrade Utility.
Method 1: Automatic Update (Recommended)
Open AMD Adrenalin SoftwarePressWin + S, type"AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition", and open the app.If you don’t have it installed, download it fromAMD’s official site.
Check for UpdatesClick the"Settings" (Gear icon)in the top-right corner.Go to the"System"tab.Under"Software Update", click"Check for Updates".
Download & Install the Latest DriverIf an update is available, click"Download"and wait for it to finish.Once downloaded, click"Install".Choose"Factory Reset" (Optional)– Recommended if you're experiencing issues (cleans old driver files).
Follow the On-Screen InstructionsThe installer may prompt you toclose running applications.Wait for the installation to complete (your screen may flicker).
