How to setup and use Polaris

Adding Polaris to Your Discord Server

This guide explains how to add and configure the Polaris bot for use with your Discord server.

  1. Invite the Polaris bot to your Discord server using the Polaris Bot Invitation Link

  2. Link the bot to your Discord server:

    • In your SCP:SL server console, run:
      !discord <DiscordServerID>
    • The console will output an account ID.
    • In your Discord server, run:
      /scpsl-link <AccountID>
    • You can also retrieve it by using the !id command on your SCP:SL server. The ID can also be viewed on the SCP:SL server web list:
      https://servers.scpslgame.com/
  3. AuthoriseAuthorize your SCP staff roles using the /whitelist command. Only members with whitelisted roles can submit reports.

Ensure staff members only use reporting commands within private staff channels.

  4. Optional (but recommended): Create a dedicated channel to receive automated responses from Northwood Studios, such as notifications when a report is accepted or denied.
Use the /reportfeedbackchannel set <#channel> command to configure where report responses from S&C will be posted.

Reporting Cheaters with Polaris

Polaris allows authorised staff members to submit cheater reports directly from Discord. If you have completed the steps in Adding Polaris to Your Discord Server, authorised staff roles can submit reports from your own Discord server. Otherwise, reports must be submitted through the official SCP:SL Discord server, which requires the Server Host role.

To submit a report:

  1. Navigate to a private staff channel in your Discord server.
  2. Type /report and press Enter.
  3. A window titled Report a cheater! will appear.
  4. Enter the player’s SteamID64 in the UserID field.
  5. Provide a direct link to video evidence in the Proof field.

Ensure all reports include clear and sufficient evidence to avoid delays or rejection.
